Bio

Brian Burr is an elementary music teacher in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District and the Front Ensemble Director with the Lamphere High School Marching Band. As a teacher, Brian is focused on providing quality, interactive, and enjoyable music-making and learning experiences to all of his students, no matter their ability. Mr. Burr sees music as a way to connect emotionally with others and bridge gaps through the universal language of the arts. Brian is passionate about learning how to teach music through the use of technology and how to better music teaching practices for neurodiverse students.

Brian graduated from Michigan State University with a Î’achelor's Degree in Music Education and a certification in teaching K-12 music. He has performed in numerous states and countries including performances at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, Michigan, the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, and in Canada with the Five Lakes Silver Band.

In his spare time, Brian enjoys golfing, rock climbing, yoga, watching his favorite sports teams, practicing and writing music, and enjoying his ever-growing record collection.
